The opportunities we offer

Our volunteers reflect our local community and we are immensely proud that our volunteers come from a variety of social, religious and cultural backgrounds. There is no upper age limit to becoming a volunteer, but applications can抰 be accepted from people under the age of 16.

The roles we offer

Clerical and Administration

Providing admin support to the Trust clinics, departments and ward s. You may be required to do filing, data inputting, answering the telephone, dealing with patient enquiries.

Fundraising

Supporting the work of the hospital charity in raising funds to support Trust services and initiatives to improve the quality of support provided to patients. Currently the main source support is through the selling of merchandise on the charity stall based in The 乐鱼体育 Hospital.

Macmillan Cancer Support

We need volunteers to help run the Macmillan Information and Support Centre at the 乐鱼体育 Hospital. We provide information and support to anyone affected by cancer: patients; relatives and friends; the general public; and to health care professionals who need detailed information.

Pastoral and Spiritual Care Visitor

As with the ward befrienders, to provide social/emotional support to patients who may require support on a more spiritual level because of their faiths/beliefs.

Ward Befriending

Our ward befrienders provide social and emotional support for patients/visitors whilst in the hospital. Ward befrienders are based in our inpatient wards, and interact with patients, visitors, as well as staff to ensure that patients are supported during their stay in the hospital.
