乐鱼体育 Heath抯 team of specialist cancer nurses have been commended at the Quality in Care Oncology awards on 25 February.
The unit were commended in the category of 憈eam of the year� for their work in supporting cancer patients and their families visiting the hospital.
Recognised for their commitment to patients, the team at 乐鱼体育 Health were praised for their work to improve the experience of people with cancer through introducing a 24 hour helpline staffed by specialist nurses to provide support around the clock, organising a cancer care conference to support those affected by the disease and running 憀ook good, feel better� workshops to help patients cope with their changing appearance following treatment.
Karen Philips, Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse at 乐鱼体育 Health, explains: 揃eing treated for cancer can be an upsetting and uncertain time, that抯 why we want to make sure our patients feel as comfortable as possible throughout their treatment.
揥e抮e really proud of our service and we抳e worked closely with our patients to make sure they get the care and support they need � whether it抯 a 24 hour helpline, or art therapy workshops. It is fantastic to know that our service is really helping to support people through their cancer treatment and we are thrilled to be highly commended by the Quality in Care team.�
